Diglis Canal Basin Worcester

Although the basin is being regenerated with yuppie apartments surrounding the boat moorings it is sad to know that it is at the expense of the once great Royal Worcester Porcelain factory that stood here.

The factory is long gone and has been replaced by modern buildings that have no canal heritage.

The work is still ongoing and the whole area is a building site.

We moored on the visitor moorings that have just been reopened after 2 years.

The basin is close to the city centre and we took a day of to take Rufus on a tour of the downtown lampposts. He enjoyed it and we found some comfortable outdoor folding chairs at long last.

The basin has a hidden jewel in the crown---The Anchor Inn (see next blog for details)
